Comfortable, fitted, and sturdy gaiters for serious protection in rough terrain. They are made from a strong, rigid microfiber fabric on the front and a breathable elastic lycra on the back. This gives perfect fit and freedom of movement without compromising protection. A foam layer gives additional protection to the shin bone and a sticky elastic strip hold the top of the gaiters securely on below the knee.
The Speed O-Gaiters have been used by the top orienteers for years and are now storming their way into rogaining and adventure racing.
Sizing based on measurement from centre of the ankle to the centre of the knee cap when standing:
less than 42cm: XS
42 - 44cm: S
44 - 46cm: M
46 - 48cm: L
greater than 48cm: XL
Sizing may also vary with calf circumference and you may want to move up or down a size if you have notably large or small calves.
FAQ: How should the gaiters fit around the ankle and foot?
The gaiters should fit as snugly as possible around the foot and ankle, much like a sock. The stirrup should be under your foot, slightly in the arch and not directly beneath you heel, and have very slight tension in it when the gaiters are pulled up to below the knee. The fit around the ankle should be as slim as possible, but it is common for the gaiters to not be skin tight here. If the gaiters were made slimmer here, you would not be able to get them on over your heel.
FAQ: Do these gaiters prevent dirt and grit from getting into you shoes and socks?
Socks, yes. Shoes, no. These gaiters stay fitted to your ankle and do not prevent dirt and grit from getting into your shoe. However, if dirt and grit did get into your shoes, you would have an extra layer of protection against abrasion around the ankle. Since these gaiters fit over your socks, they completely prevent dirt and grit from getting into your socks.
